Gucci Cruise Line

Another really great ad. This is from Gucci's Cruise Line and I'm dieing for the white pump to make it's come back! I've always loved a white pump! I love that they have the model in all black except for the shoes...... so chic. I have to say, since Tom Ford left, Gucci has done quite well without him.

American Idol

Okay... Yes I watch American Idol (don't act like you don't) and although I enjoy the show in all its disgusting-ness, what in the hell is going on with the stylists over there. Someone needs to be fired (and I need to be hired) Let's assume that each contestant has a pretty big say in what they wear. I know they get a wardrobe budget...but come on!!!! Someone over there help these poor fashion-less souls!!! I mean I get it.... Girl #1 (photo above) thinks she is Janis Joplin re-incarnated but EW! The hair is so cracked out, and the pants???? She is one hot mess. Girl #2 is a farm living, animal loving (well she loves horses but kills fish) kinda tom-boy. But oh man... I saw this girl when she auditioned and I knew from the look of her then, we were headed for something god-awful. What is that shirt made out of? And the pants are shimmery as well, no? Could this be any worse? Oh this is going to fun ! :)

Project Runway Episode 13

I just read some of the comments left on the bravotv.com blog about the "mistake" the judges made in sending Chris home. Is everyone smoking crack? Chris' line was soooooooooo hideous, not to mention...... human hair??????? Ew. thats freakin nasty! There was nothing fashion forward about what Chris showed. It was all very Cruella De vil and not in a good way. Rami on the other hand decided not to show a single jersey drapey piece. I actually kind of missed seeing that from him. I thought it was very interesting how all the designers seemed to be on the same page with their lines for Bryant Park. Everyone went dark and a little dreary. Nothing really stood out. I enjoyed when Chris told Christian that everyone thinks he is annoying... he thought it was humorous, that is... until Christian told him, yeah well everyone says the same thing about you. LOL! On to the finale!

Oscars

Sorry so late and lacking on the postings these days.... Birthday day has turned into Birthday week! Anyhow here is a quick look at a couple of my favorite dresses from the red carpet at last nights Oscars.  I honestly didnt see anything that really blew me away or that I thought was clearly the best. Marion and Heidi definitely looked most original.

Versace - Fall 2008

Not normally a big Versace fan, I just loved...loved... the looks at their Fall fashion show this week. Light on prints and embellishments, Donatella sent out beautifully structured designs both simple yet complex. From rich colored coats to gorgeous flowy gowns (which we may see today at the Oscars) Versace's Fall line leaves me filled up and wishing for a bigger bank account!

Project Runway - Reunion Show

This picture says it all, doesnt it? I can't believe it's almost over. I'm so completely depressed. Anywho....  My favorite part of last nights episode was Heidi calling out Victorya on being an angry bitter pill. hahahahaha! I loved it. What the hell is wrong with this  gal?  I also thought it was hilarious that Carmen was sooooooooooo upset no one missed her. Puuuuhhhlleezzz.... get over it!  It was so cute to see Rami and Chris holding hands while they watched the last challenge episode.... and by the looks of things, I say Rami goes all the way. Our beloved  Christian won fan favorite... he was so robbed when it came to the montages. Where was all his great one liners and moments??? Oh well........ on to the finale.

Pleather Leggings

We spotted a girl over the weekend at a club wearing pleather leggings. I think they were actually sparkly, pleather leggings. Bad.... bad.... bad idea. I'm just not down with this look at all! Unless your legs are the size of toothpicks this is just something you should never ever do! You gotta be smoking crack to put on anything that is sparkling pleather!

Project Runway - Episode 11

Finally...... a final competition that actually delivered. In the past 3 seasons the designers have always sent out crap for the last competition, probably nervous about making it to Bryant Park, but this season we saw some great stuff! I'm not surprised Sweat P. was the one who got voted off (for the record all final 5 showed last week in New York) she was so under par in comparison to the other 4 designers. Not to many exciting moments last night... although Christian and Jillian almost had a nice little cat fight. We have come to just adore Christian.... he is the king of one liners. And although she has taken awhile to grow on us, Jillian has definitely become one of our favorites! Next week is the reunion show, and I am loving the shot of Victorya they keep showing. Ol' bitter face is back! Angry as ever.... We can't wait!

Anyways, today I decided for the hell of it to look at their website and I found this lovely. Vera Wang's, Simply Vera line has this great little Spring dress on sale for only $58 bucks!!!! Slightly better then the Chloe dresses mentioned earlier. Guess I might have to take a trip to my local Kohls!

Rag & Bone

As we don't talk about men's fashions much here, I thought I'd post a couple pictures from last weeks Rag & Bone show. Nice to see some men dressed in things other then the standard jeans and collared shirt. My man will be especially pleased to see the pants tucked into the socks.... he was big fan of that look in the 80's. Ha! (love ya)

Thakoon - Floating waist band shorts

So are we doing shorts with heels again this summer? I do enjoy the style that was so big two summers ago. Very Carrie Bradshaw running through the streets of the city look. I like these by Thakoon. Comfy looking but very stylish. Available at the designer boutique at Shopbop.
